Alec Stewart OBE
Former England Test Captain
Alec Stewart OBE
Former England Test Captain
Alec Stewart OBE is a former England cricket captain.
Educated at Tiffin Boys’ School in Kingston-upon-Thames, Alec made his cricket debut for Surrey in 1981.
He made his England debut in the first Test of the 1989/90 tour of the West Indies. Alec Stewart was vice-captain of the England team during most of Michael Atherton’s tenure as captain. Alec eventually succeeded Michael, becoming Captain in 1998.
During his captaincy, he had the unusual distinction of simultaneously captaining the side, opening the batting and keeping wicket. In 1994, at the Kensington Oval in the West Indies, Alec Stewart became the 7th English batsman to score centuries in both innings of a test match. His highest Test score was 190 against Pakistan in the first Edgbaston Test on 4th June 1992.
With 133 international caps, Alec Stewart is one of the highest capped English Test cricketers of all time.
After 20 years in County and International cricket, his final match was a very high profile one at his home ground The Oval against South Africa in the summer of 2003.
Stewart now works in the media and acts as an executive director of Surrey.
Kim Hughes
Former Australian Test Captain
Kim Hughes
Former Australian Test Captain
Kim Hughes is a former Australian cricketer and Test and ODI captain who played in 70 Tests and 97 ODIs from 1977 to 1985. His first-class debut was at the WACA Ground on 2 November 1975 when he provided a masterful exhibition of strokeplay against New South Wales, making 119 and becoming only the fifth Western Australian batsman to make a century on debut.
Probably the most dashing batsman of his generation, the golden-haired Hughes drew vast crowds to cricket with his audacious and breath-taking stroke play. A testament to his daring batting style, he is the only man to have hit a six on all five days of a Test match, a feat he achieved in the 1980 Centenary Test at Lord's. But he was also a player of great substance, as he showed during his 100 not out against the mighty West Indian attack on a treacherous MCG pitch on Boxing Day 1981. Facing the fearsome fast-bowling quartet of Michael Holding, Andy Roberts, Joel Garner and Colin Croft, his brave century enabled Australia to win a low-scoring match and take a 1-0 lead in the series. The Wisden 100 ranking of the Top 10 Test Innings of All Time ranked that innings as number 9.
At the age of only 24, Hughes was given the captaincy of the Australian Test team, becoming the first Western Australian Test Captain of Australia and the second youngest in Australian history. He went on to lead his country 28 times.
Hughes also captained WA 28 times and was at the helm during three Sheffield Shield victories. He chaired the WA selection panel and is renowned as a passionate and inspirational speaker on cricketing matters as well as teamwork, culture, men's health and wellness

Rodney Hogg
Former Australian Fast Bowling Firebrand
Former Australian cricketing great Rodney ‘Hoggie’ Hogg has enjoyed a long and controversial career that began at Northcote Cricket Club and ascended to Victorian, South Australian and Australian representation. A menacingly fast and aggressive bowler, Rodney played in 38 Tests and 71 ODIs between 1978 and 1985. In Tests he took 123 wickets at an average of 28.47.
He first gained prominence during the 1978-79 Ashes series when he took 41 wickets for World Series-depleted Australia against England in 1978-79. The way he regularly beat Geoff Boycott thrilled Australia at a lean time.
Now an established corporate and motivational speaker and MC, Rodney delights business and sporting audiences with his great sense of humour and fascinating stories of his experiences on and off the pitch.
