Rod Kafer
Rod Kafer
Rod Kafer (born 25 June 1971) is a former rugby union standout who represented the ACT Brumbies and the Australian Wallabies. A trailblazer in the sport, he was the first player to win both the Super 12 with the Brumbies in 2001 and the Heineken Cup with the Leicester Tigers in 2002—a rare achievement. His six-year Wallabies career, earning 12 Test Caps, included victories in the 1999 Rugby World Cup, two Bledisloe Cups, and the 2000 Tri Nations, despite injury setbacks.
Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 15 while attending Canberra Grammar School, Kafer credits this challenge as the spark igniting his ambition to play for Australia. His rugby journey also encompassed coaching roles with the Brumbies, Leicester Tigers, and a two-year term as Head Coach of Saracens F.C. Beyond the field, he shaped the sport as a board member of the ARU (now Rugby Australia) in 2000-01 and as President of the Rugby Union Players Association for seven years.
After a 15-year stint as a Fox Sports commentator (2006-2021), Kafer transitioned into the financial markets, specializing in futures and derivatives trading.

Ben Evans is a proud husband, father, and Welshman with an infectious passion for everything he does. Over a remarkable 17-year professional rugby career, Ben represented the Welsh national team and the iconic Barbarians. Among his proudest moments were playing at the Millennium Stadium during the 1999 World Cup and captaining the Barbarians—experiences that reflected his leadership and commitment at the highest levels of the sport.
A Sports Science graduate with honours, Ben has always shown immense dedication both on and off the field. Highly motivated and a natural motivator, he possesses a wide range of transferable skills from his time as an elite athlete. He thrives on building strong, trusting relationships and has an innate ability to engage with people—because he genuinely cares.
Ben’s post-playing career has included coaching at a professional level, managing elite player development programs, and mentoring young athletes. Rugby took him around the world, including stints playing professionally in Wales, England, and Italy, where he lived for three years and became fluent in Italian. Always eager to challenge himself, Ben embraces new opportunities with energy and purpose.
In April 2014, after finishing his final professional rugby contract in the UK, Ben moved to Sydney to be with his now-wife. Together, they have two beautiful children and have built a life full of love and gratitude.
Ben began his career in recruitment the same year, taking on a 100% commission-based role and later founding Blue Bison Recruitment in 2016. He thrived on the entrepreneurial challenges and took particular pride in his pro-bono work. However, over time he realised recruitment wasn’t his true calling.
Driven by a deep desire to make a genuine difference, Ben joined Stepping Stone House, an organisation dedicated to rehoming vulnerable and homeless young people in Australia. There, he is part of a passionate team working to give young people a safe space to heal and recover. Ben is now fully aligned with a purpose that feeds his soul—helping others and working towards ending youth homelessness in Australia.
