The connection

The connection between Tenant CS and TAG was forged through a series of the Chamber’s vibrant networking events. Max Vaughan, Director at Tenant CS, and Brett Thomson, Head of Corporate Sales APAC at TAG, were first introduced by the Chamber’s Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Wright, and went on to develop a strong professional relationship through continued engagement.

TAG’s Brett Thomson reflects:

"The relationship between TAG and Tenant CS was sparked through one of the Chamber’s greatest strengths – its networking events. After connecting at several Chamber functions, Max approached us to discuss our upcoming leasing requirements."

With the support of Paul, the initial Chamber introduction led to Max meeting with TAG’s Managing Director and Finance Team. Tenant CS presented a tailored proposal, marking the beginning of a partnership built on shared values and mutual trust.

Tenant CS’s Max Vaughan adds:

"Our collaboration grew from a mix of being proactive, nurturing a relationship over the years through the Chamber’s networking events, and having a strong interest in each other’s businesses. When the opportunity arose to support TAG on their lease renewal, our market insights and understanding of their operations—coupled with the connections and platform provided by the Chamber—allowed us to stand above the rest."

Why the partnership made sense

Both Tenant CS and TAG found a natural alignment in their approach to business. TAG was seeking a tenant representation partner who could navigate a competitive market while aligning with their values and operational needs.

Brett Thomson explains, "Tenant CS stood out for their expertise, transparency, and genuine interest in our business. From day one, Max and the team brought a collaborative mindset, and with support from the Chamber network, the partnership evolved naturally."

Max Vaughan of Tenant CS adds, "In this highly competitive market (vacancy and incentives), lease negotiations and incentives should be negotiated on a case-by-case and landlord-to-landlord basis. It would be a big mistake to use a transactional approach. Therefore, based on our knowledge of the market and TAG’s non-negotiables, Tenant CS recommended and executed a tailored strategy which resulted in substantial rental savings. We effectively reset the rent to below what it was 5 years ago.”

Delivering results

Tenant CS’s bespoke strategy achieved significant outcomes for TAG. By negotiating with landlords individually and leveraging their deep market insights, they were able to reset TAG’s rent to below what it had been five years ago, delivering both financial and operational benefits.

The role of the Chamber

The Chamber played a key role in facilitating this partnership. Paul Wright’s understanding of both businesses and the Chamber’s networking platform created the ideal environment for collaboration.

Brett Thomson notes: "Paul Wright from the Chamber saw the natural alignment between our businesses early on. His belief in the power of the Chamber’s networking events helped lay the groundwork for a successful and mutually beneficial partnership."
