UK Department for International Trade (DIT)

Corporate Membership

The UK Department for International Trade (DIT) has overall responsibility for promoting UK trade across the world and attracting foreign investment to our economy. We are a specialised government body with responsibility for negotiating international  trade policy, supporting business, as well as delivering  an outward-looking trade diplomacy strategy.

The economic and trade relationship between Australia and the UK remains immensely important to both countries. Australian companies continue to see the UK as a springboard for global growth, and UK firms see Australia as an excellent trading and investment location.

DIT has a strong presence in Australia, operating from the British Consulate General offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane Adelaide and Perth.

Our team can:

  •        help Australian businesses with their UK expansion plans by providing insights into the UK market and tailored, impartial, free advice and introductions to prospective UK partners and government contacts to maximise chances of success.
  •        help Australian companies looking to partner with UK companies or source goods and services from the UK.
  •        help UK companies looking to export or establish themselves in Australia, by providing local knowledge, introductions to prospective business partners, distributors, suppliers and Australian Government bodies.
