Join the Australian British Chamber of Commerce for a ‘fireside chat’ with Dr Catherine Ball and Her Excellency Menna Rawlings CMG as they discuss the advancement and achievements of women in STEM.

Dr Catherine Ball
Dr Catherine Ball is an author, founder and ethics advocate working across global projects where robotics and new technology meet environmental protection. A sought after voice in the industry, Dr Ball is now working with the application of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) aka drone technology across remote communities, schools, industry and citizen scientists. Dr Ball is leading the call for discussion around the ethics of spatial data, and commercial drone operations.

Dr Ball was the chosen ‘drone advisor’ to DFAT InnovationXChange’s “Pacific Humanitarian Challenge” and is continuing to support these efforts, as well as initial talks with the UN’s World Food Programme on using drones to distribute food aid, especially in conflict areas, such as Syria. Catherine continues to advise federal and state government across Australia. Dr Ball has travelled and worked globally on cutting edge projects that combine science, entrepreneurships, empowerment, education and training. 

Her Excellency Menna Rawlings CMG
Menna Rawlings has been British High Commissioner to Australia since April 2015.

Menna joined the FCO in 1989 and has served in a wide range of Diplomatic Service roles. She was most recently a member of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Management Board as HR Director. This followed postings to Washington DC, Ghana, Israel, Kenya and Brussels. In London, she has served as Private Secretary to the Permanent Under Secretary as well as in Press Office and the Africa and EU Directorates.
