Board Lunch - invitation only

The Rt Hon Hugo Swire MP (UK) - Invite only

'The UK in Australia - partners for economic growth'

Mr Swire was appointed Minister of State at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, UK, on 4 September 2012.  He is responsible for business relations in Australia, the Asia Pacific Region and the Commonwealth.  Mr Swire's role includes supporting Lord Livingston, Minister of State for Trade and Investment (UK), by expanding relationships with British business.

This significant address covered  the joint interests of our two countries, and how we might develop shared economic growth into the Asia Pacific markets.  Mr Swire touched on the key areas for collaboration - including promoting the two-way flow of investment, infrastructure opportunities and working together - bilaterally and through our international networks.  He pointed out that there were several British companies already successfully contributing to the Australian economy, including BAE Systems, BT (British Telecom), Mott MacDonald and Specsavers.
