'How health can beat at the heart of an economy'

Sir Malcolm delivered a fascinating and informative look at the future of health care.   The use of personalised genomics, pharmacological management and how the benefits of the technological revolution are being adapted for diagnostics and treatment.  He particularly emphasised the need to understand the revolutionary potential of this new technology.

Sir Malcolm is Chair of the NHS England Board (National Health Service).  He was appointed in 2011 as the inaugural Chairman of NHS England, a new independent board established by the British Government to manage the National Health Service in England. NHS England commissions healthcare for a population of 55 million people, and holds an annual budget approaching £100 billion, with responsibility to deliver significant long-term improvements in health outcomes and the quality of healthcare in England.
