Infrastructure: Delivering Productivity Gains for the Victorian Economy

Asset recycling is now ingrained in the infrastructure sector and will be explored in the discussion as will user pays principles towards funding and the challenges in effective supply chains.  Other important areas to be considered are skills availability and pricing challenges given the unprecedented infrastructure spend anticipated throughout Australia as well as individual States over the next 10 years.

Michel was appointed CEO of Yarra Trams in 2009 and helped lead the development of Keolis Downer throughout Australia, before joining the Calibre group in 2014 to create and lead its Transport Infrastructure business. 

Rachel Johnson - Chief Executive Officer, Victorian Ports Corporation (Melbourne)
Rachel Johnson took up the role of inaugural Chief Executive Officer of Victorian Ports Corporation (Melbourne) (VPCM) in November 2016, following the Victorian Government’s successful leasing of the Port of Melbourne’s commercial operations to a private sector operator.  Rachel has wide ranging experience of Australian freight and logistics businesses as well as development and operation of transport infrastructure in both the public and private sectors.

Brett Himbury -Chief Executive, IFM Investors
Brett is IFM Investors’ Chief Executive, having joined the firm in April 2010. Brett is responsible for the execution of the firm’s strategy and delivery of strong results for IFM Investors’ clients, shareholders and staff. 

Wendy Norris - Head of Infrastructure and Timberland, Future Fund
Wendy joined the Future Fund in April 2010 and is responsible for managing and establishing the strategy for the infrastructure and timberland portfolios.  Wendy was previously an Investment Director with Hastings Funds Management where she was responsible for managing infrastructure investments and leading transactions in Australia, the UK and the US. 

Elana Rubin - (Moderator) Director of Mirvac Group Ltd, Touchcorp, ME Bank, Transurban Queensland and VFMC. She is also a member of LaunchVic, Qualitas Property Advisory Board, AICD Victorian Council and the Committee for Melbourne.
