The Hon Gladys Berejiklian MP, Premier of New South Wales
Partnerships for Building the Future
The NSW Government has actively pursued an agenda of developing the capability and capacity of the State since the O’Farrell Government was sworn in, in 2011. This era of unprecedented growth particularly in infrastructure investment has driven NSW to the top of the growth charts domestically.
As Minister for Transport, Treasurer and now as Premier of NSW, The Hon Gladys Berejiklian MP, has been a key figure in recasting the NSW economy and delivery of services by the State. The announcement of over $72bn worth of infrastructure investment made possible by the sale and long term lease of assets is driving the resurgence of NSW’s economy and the strong budget position. This represents an unprecedented opportunity for investment and engagement in the sector from the UK. As with all strong partnerships, NSW companies have also been making significant investments in the UK and returning home with innovative and bold concepts for future growth.
Join the Chamber for this lunch where the Premier will address the opportunities for partnership to build our future, and to formally launch in NSW the Australian British Infrastructure Investment Catalyst* programme for 2017 in London in September.
*The Australian British Infrastructure Investment Catalyst is an annual programme for collaboration and the sharing of best practice between the Australian and British infrastructure sectors, including involvement from Government, Government agencies, and the private sector across, planning, design, engineering, construction, finance and management. The Catalyst, previously held in Sydney last September, will be held in London from the 26-28th of September and will look at themes including airports, energy, housing affordability, road and rail.
