The panel discussion will provide a global economic outlook looking from west to east, the ramifications of the UK General Election in particular and the unstable European environment, slow global growth and investing in turbulent times.  

The panellists are :
Paul Bloxham - Chief Economist, HSBC Australia
Katie Hudson - Executive Director and Head of Australian Equities Research, Yarra Capital Management
Simon Hudson - Head of Equities, UniSuper Management

Alan Kohler - The Constant Investor (Moderator)

Paul Bloxham
Paul Bloxham is HSBC’s Chief Economist for Australia, New Zealand and Global Commodities. He is chief spokesperson for HSBC on forecasts and trends for the Australian and New Zealand economies and their interaction with global financial markets and international economies. Paul is also a key spokesperson on HSBC’s unique view on global commodity markets and works closely with HSBC’s global equities team in this regard. Paul is a critical member of the HSBC Global Research team, working with 350 analysts, economists and strategists in 24 countries.

Katie Hudson
Katie has more than 20 years’ experience in investment markets. She is a Portfolio Manager focussed on the small and midcap universe and, in addition, serves as Head of Australian Equities Research.

Simon Hudson
Simon joined UniSuper in March 2010 and is responsible for the Fund’s international and domestic equity strategies, which includes both internally and externally managed portfolios (UniSuper internally manages approximately half of its funds under management). He has over 28 years experience in equities and financial markets.

Alan Kohler
Alan is publisher and editor of his new 100%-owned publication, The Constant Investor; business editor at large of The Australian; finance presenter on ABC news; presenter of the Talking Business channel on Qantas inflight radio; and adjunct professor in the business faculty of Victoria University.
