The Minister will explore the paradox that while infrastructure is a highly attractive investment option, there is more demand for new infrastructure facilites than can be immediately funded by Government. He will discuss the division between infrastructure that produces a return and that which does not, as well as what role the market can play, and the policy responses that are available.

Hear from Evan Tattersall, CEO of the Melbourne Metro Rail Authority, on how new Melbourne Metro rail tunnels will unlock the centre of the current train system, enabling major improvements in capacity, reliability and frequency of services across our busiest train lines. Evan has 30 years' experience in construction across a number of sectors including the transport and building sectors. His extensive experience working in Melbourne's metropolitan rail environment includes the Craigieburn Electrification Project and most recently leading one of the complex inner city packages on the $4.1 billion Regional Rail Link project. Evan was a Principal of Melbourne with Evans & Peck for 12 years and with Thiess as Construction Manager across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania for 10 years.
